Friday Night Lights #1: Big Bang Bereisheet
Join us for a delightful dinner and delicious conversation in the first of three family-style Shabbat meals planned for the Fall.
Just in time for Rosh Hashanah – the birthday of the world according to Jewish thought – we’ll have a fascinating conversation about science and faith with MIT’s Dr. Jeff Hoffman and Rabbi Leslie Gordon. Dr. Hoffman became NASA’s first male Jewish astronaut, who in five missions logged more than 1,211 hours in space, and was the first person to read Bereisheet (Genesis) in space. Rabbi Gordon is an accomplished educator whose work has focused on all phases of family life at InterfaithFamily/Boston, the Jewish Discovery Institute, Mayyim Hayyim, and several area synagogues.
This new year inspired dairy/fish meal is prepared in a kosher synagogue kitchen, using all kosher ingredients, but without authorized supervision.
Tickets are $53 for adults and $25 for children up to age 12.
